The De.Co. logo, “Municipal Denominationâ€, was established to certify the origin of products and their historical and cultural connection with the municipal territory, as well as being an effective promotional tool for the City of Pulsano. Through De.Co., the aim is to:
De.Co. is not a quality label but, as a geographical origin certification, it is equivalent in meaning, objectives, and effects to the “Made in Italy†label. By “typical local product,†we mean an agricultural or livestock product or a product resulting from the processing and transformation of products derived from agricultural and livestock activities, obtained or produced on the municipal territory according to methods that have become established in local customs and practices. Therefore, the adjective “typical†is understood as synonymous with “traditionalâ€.
