A small place of worship, the destination of traditional Lenten pilgrimages, located among the countryside of Pulsano.

Next to the Pulsano Castle, the town’s civic Clock Tower, which rises above the old guardhouse of the main gate that was part of the ancient urban perimeter walls, is immediately recognizable.

Feast of the Assumption

On the coast of Pulsano, in the Montedarena area, stands a small church dedicated to Maria Stella del Mare containing the charming papier-mâché statue of the same name, which, every August 15, the day commemorating the Assumption, is carried in procession at sea accompanied by numerous private boats.

Montedarena

The Bay of Montedarena probably owes its name to the combination of two words: "Monte," which means "hill" or "height," and "Arena," which undoubtedly refers to sand; therefore, it could be interpreted as "sandy hill" or "sandy height."

Moving from Taranto towards Pulsano, one of the first bays you encounter is Luogovivo.

Silvana Beach

Patronal Feast of Our Lady of Martyrs and Saint Trifone

Every year on September 7 and 8, the people of Pulsano pay homage to their two Patron Saints, Our Lady of the Martyrs and Saint Trifone, with great civil and religious celebrations characterized by the lighting of the illuminations on the main Via Costantinopoli, the presence of the harmonic box in Piazza Castello where the most renowned Apulian bands perform, and the fireworks display.

Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is organized in Pulsano in July by the Archconfraternity of Purgatory founded under the title of the Virgin of Carmel in 1687.

Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes

In May 1929, after a diocesan pilgrimage to the French town of Lourdes, a famous Marian devotion center, Dr. Egidio Delli Ponti (1880-1949) of Pulsano obtained a miraculous cure from a malignant tumor located in the carotid area.

Holy Week

As reported in the sixth chapter of the ancient statutory rules, the organization of the Pulsano Holy Week is the responsibility of the Archconfraternity of Purgatory founded in 1687 under the title of the Virgin of Mount Carmel.

Convent of the Reformed Franciscan Fathers

The convent of the Reformed Fathers of San Nicolò di Puglia was built between 1709 and 1712 next to the church of S. Maria dei Martiri by the will of Nicolò Sergio Muscettola, prince of Leporano and Pulsano.

De Falconibus Castle

A historical symbol of Pulsano, it dominates the center of the town with its square, always the main point of reference for the community.
