Faith and cultural tradition come together once again through the partnership between the Santa Maria La Nova Parish and the Municipal Administration, who have—as they do every year—organized the highly anticipated Patronal Festival in honor of the Madonna dei Martiri and Saint Tryphon. From September 6th to 8th, Piazza Castello comes alive with the wonderful atmosphere of the post-holiday return, a time when friends and relatives living away from town customarily come back to join their families. The brass band, market stalls, the aroma of cotton candy and *cupeta* (traditional almond brittle), the festive lights, and the fireworks all provide the perfect backdrop for this quintessential September experience.
